The Firebird is inspired by the ballet The Firebird by Stravinsky. In the middle of the ballet in a female dance solo where she leaps through the air. My firebird is a wall displayed leaping dancer that seems to float in the air suspended by a wall bracket hidden behind the sculpture. The ballet score is applied to a papier mache base in the colours of flames.
